Senior Spotlight

We envision a world where every senior dog thrives, and no old dog dies alone and afraid. Ensuring senior dogs find loving, forever homes is central to that vision. There are many benefits and reasons to adopt a senior dog, and we hope to show the world what incredible companions they are.

Here are some adoptable senior dogs located across the country. Please check in with each organization to learn more about how to adopt a shelter or rescue dog.

Pasta is our sassy little sparkplug. He has been holding court in our Cat Cottage, where he recently became the kitchen dog and night manager. Pasta makes friends easily and is extremely playful and energetic for his age, which we guesstimate to be about 12. He came to us from our rescue...

Looking for an energetic but mature companion?  Then meet Suki!

Eight-year-old Suki is an active little girl who loves to walk and play.  Like any Jack Russell, Suki would love a fenced-in yard where she can zoom, too!

Choco is a 9 year old and 87 pound dog who is looking for her forever home. She could use some confidence building as she is a shy gal, once she warms up to you she is super affectionate and will use you as a head rest. She is quite calm and could use a quiet relaxing retirement home. My...

The number 1 reason to adopt a senior... Nina!  She is a sweetheart of a love shadow, so kind and calm. Nina let's children love on her, is friendly with dogs, and doesn't care one bit about the cat in her foster home. Estimated birthdate is 12/15/2011. She has all her affairs in order: house...

Lovely is cute as a button and easy to love! She is a happy, sweet, friendly girl looking for a loving home to call her own.

Lovely is the perfect balance between sassy and sweet. She is a playful, low-key companion who will make you laugh with her silly shenanigans. She loves to roll...

Steve is a sweet senior boy looking for a quieter home where he will get lots of love. He is a bit older but would benefit from daily walks to keep him happy and healthy. He going to be best placed in a more easy going home without a lot of foot traffic or activity. He enjoys attention but can...

Mickey is an eight-year-old Pit mix and the current favorite resident of Kennel Two, which says a lot considering the company he keeps! Friendly, fun-loving, and undeniably handsome, he doesn’t let his lack of hearing affect his positive outlook on life. Tuned in to your every move, he listens...

Honey Bunny

My name's Honey Bunny, I'm ten years old and I was abandoned and left on the property to fend for myself. I won't go into the details of my past - I'd rather focus on my future. I'm staying positive and dream of being adopted by a loving family who appreciates a mature lady like me.

Recliner for one? Make it two. You can't help but giggle as Sheba "purrs" when you rub her soft tummy.  Belly rubs are her jam! Her little tail is always wagging, and she breaks into Ginger Rogers dance moves when you come home. Sheba is waiting to bless a family with all that she is!

Prince Henry

Prince Henry is 7.5 years old and has been with us since March with very little interest. He was actually adopted from IndyHumane in 2016 but returned to us this spring when his owner passed away ☹ Staff, volunteers, and his foster family love this sweet guy and we can't believe he is still here waiting for a family. Prince Henry's adoption fee has been sponsored.
